GCTBM starts with online payment options

For some time, the board of Golf Club The Blue Marker had a strong wish to start with online payment options. Biggest reason is that we have spent a lot of time chasing persons to pay invoices. This sometimes leads to discussions and from a board perspective, this is not something you would like to spent time on. Chairman Rob Beeren says: "We see a lot of benefits when people are able to pay directly via a link after they registered for some of our events. In future we also see potential options in paying your membership fee online or lessons."

How does online payment works?

For now, we only build in the option for the Small Event (Covid-19 proof). Normally our Big Event is an event that is sponsored by GCTBM. This means that participants will not pay at the golf course but in advance. Via our current administation system, it is not possible to add payments via iDeal or Credit card easily for example. This is why GCTBM decided to build the solution themselves, in collaboration with Mollie and our administrative system. After you have registered to a prepaid event (an event where you need to pay in advance) you will be sent to our payment provider within 5 seconds. If you pay directly your registration is final.

Future options

The board also see more options for online payments. Treasurer Jack Bombeeck says: "We would also like to make it possible that in future you are able to pay your membership online or the lessons you have registered to. The online system makes it much easier for us to track the payments and makes it a lot easier for our members to pay there outstanding balances." We expect to have the online payment for the lessons available from the winter lessons onwards. For the memberships fees, we are checking if we can migrate all open invoices for the 2020 membership fees into our new system, or that we will start next year.

Do I need to pay immediatly?

However we appreciate that you pay straight away, making our administration easy, you don't need to pay directly. However you do need to pay before the registration date ends. It might be that we will sent you some reminders to pay. You can also go to My Invoices in My Profile and find your open invoices and pay from there. Also in your registration email, a payment link is added.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

If you have already paid you are still able to cancel within the registration period via My Events. After cancellation a credit invoice is being generated and we will pay you back within a week. If you didn't pay already, your original invoice is cancelled and removed from My Invoices. If you cancel after the registration period ended (if you have or haven't paid) it might be that we already made costs for your registration. We might decide to keep (a part) of the paid amount or still request you to pay for this.
